Each year as we prepare the Promise Gardens for the Spring-Summer Flower & Rose Show we look for creative and new ways to feature plants and vines that make a “wow, come look closely at me.” This is especially important when you have large gardens with many trees and ones that “need a little help” in being admired. We work with the Arborists to clean up, take down and prune trees and utilize and then create new features. In the above image, this is a small very hard tree that needed help so after pruning we created a trunk structure to house a bird house perch and climbing clematis. These are always welcome in the garden for their natural beauty and secondary use to showcase climbing roses and clematis. These natural tree climbers create a “romantic” feature of loveliness in the gardens so don’t give up on your small or sad trees make good and creative use of them. Soon this climbing clematis will fill out all of the green vines with beautiful purple lavender flowers! Happy Gardening!
The Promise Garden is lighting up every day with flowering peonies and nothing makes our hearts happier than seeing this beautiful “smiling-at-us” yellow peony in full bloom. We call the yellow peony our “Happy Peony” because every time one blooms we burst out with joy and a huge smile. You can see why we love them so much. -Happy Gardening!
Loveliness is everywhere you just have to look around you in God’s creation we see beauty, love, hope and eternity. In our Promise Gardens it is filled with life, color, aroma, art and life from birth to death, creation at its best and worst. How blessed are we to be able to create, sow, seed, grow and tend the generous supply of creation our God’s has given us. It is WHY we love the creation in all of its splendor and have just a little of it in our own gardens. -JacyJoypals
Beautiful Spring! We are happy to see the flowers begin to bloom and are looking forward to this year’s beauties as they grow another year in fullness and show. The sun is shining brightly here in the Valley which means our flowering trees are popping out all over. It’s a cheerful place and since we all love the colors of spring, a repeated post was in order. This is a combination of my favorite colors and the inspiration color palette for my beach house and formal areas of blue and white. Isn’t it lovely?
At Promise Gardens we are always thinking color, color scheme, color palette, storyboards and especially for each new garden season. What will it be this year? Pastels or bold colors? We shall see!
