It’s fall and we are traveling the coast and mountain ranges to view the beautiful fall foliage and partake of the gifts of the season. This is surely a beautiful time of the year filled with autumn colors, gorgeous blue skies, crisp sunny days and yummy fruits of the season. Enjoy and photograph your fall journey to remember during those cold days of winter.
Autumn again? Yes, it’s another year and we are preparing for the Autumn Photo Walks here at the Promise Gardens and in our city. It is a glorious time for photography! A reminder from last season:
As Fall sheds the last weeks of its beauty, we have walked the gardens, forests, parks and waterfronts capturing their exquisite beauty and color. The Promise Gardens are being prepared to sleep for the winter and tucked away before our first big snowfall. This morning’s misty light snow flurries reminded us that getting Fall photographs posted are a must-do for this week. Thanksgiving and its bounty are right around the corner so dedication to these are an important part of our photography work and seasonable personal enjoyment of color and beauty. Soon the pristine white of snow will replace these amazing colors.

Autumn,–the slow name lingers,
While we likewise flag;
It silences many singers;
Its slow days drag,
Yet hasten at speed
To leave us in chilly need
For Winter to strip indeed.

How will I leave you beautiful Fall flowers from the Promise Gardens…”the promise of snow” — perhaps!
…you will be missed — your beauty and hues, twirling in the breeze, sunlit glows, shade from the heat, the canopy over lovely places… Today the storm is here, raining heavily, windy and we watch the leaves blow in the wind and fall to be gathered later. We will miss you…
What would fall be without the beauty of Chrysanthemums in the gardens? The beauty of their colors of red, gold, orange, rust blend so well with the changing colors of the foliage. Each year I purchase new colors and varieties from our favorite garden center and divide the mums from last year thus multiplying them every year and now have a large display throughout the fall in the Promise Gardens.
