Loveliness is everywhere you just have to look around you in God’s creation we see beauty, love, hope and eternity. In our Promise Gardens it is filled with life, color, aroma, art and life from birth to death, creation at its best and worst. How blessed are we to be able to create, sow, seed, grow and tend the generous supply of creation our God’s has given us. It is WHY we love the creation in all of its splendor and have just a little of it in our own gardens. -JacyJoypals
Though winter is strong upon us, snow abounding and windy cold days, we have the “promise of spring” which shall surely come soon. Can it be we are at February? Yes, at the door and so we wait and enjoy the beauty of the season.

“In all-lack Winter,
Dull of sense and of sound,
We huddle and shiver
Beside our splinter
Of crackling pine,
Snow in sky and snow on ground.
Winter and cold
Can’t last for ever!
To-day, to-morrow, the sun will shine;
When we are old,
But some still are young,
Singing the song
Which others have sung,
Ringing the bells
Which others have rung,–
We ourselves, who else?
We ourselves long

October is here and the Promise Gardens is preparing for the fall foliage show, colors of fall and the beauty of the changing season. All around us there is beauty to behold, taste and enjoy. We are walking the Promise Gardens and surrounding lake, park and fall foliage in October. Watch for details!
I am fascinated by the changing colors of the garden from the spring pastels of flowering trees and bulbs to the deep reds of roses to the deep emerald green of Arborvitae, I am capturing them with my eye and camera. I cannot quite decide what I like best, the soft pastels or the deep primary colors or a combination of both so it is determined that I just love them all, in all colors, shades, and in all sizes and shapes because I AM a GARDENER!
Pastel Garden Loves: This image depicts my “softer side” and photographed when the buds were beginning to open rendering lovely and varied shades of orchid. Total color awesomeness. It has blessed my soul today as the arborist prepares for removing those damaged trees and debris that are hanging 100 ft. above me so that I cannot even get into the “Secret Garden” part of the gardens. I shall photograph them as they work and share with you.
Spring in the Promise Gardens!
Winter is here – Promise Gardens are asleep for the winter.
November, falling leaves and promises of snow. We had our first snowfall in the Promise Gardens early this year; very icy, wet heavy snow which bent trees to the ground, broke leaders off some of our very old large trees. It was quite a sight but beautiful color amidst the snow. We photographed several for posting on the blog and they are forthcoming soon. Enjoy the colors!
