Rainy Day Promise Gardens

Yesterday we had a glorious day of rain!  The gardens were crying for it and so happy to drink it in.   I could not venture out in the pouring rain so shot a few photos through the windows.  It’s still lovely and I have the blessing of seeing it all day!  I hope your view is just as lovely.

Today it is sunny and gorgeous, crisp pre-fall air, breezy and the time for falling leaves begins. I can’t wait to photograph them and hear them crunch under my feet! Happy Gardening!

Summer to Fall in the Gardens

How beautiful has this summer been in the gardens?  Just breathtaking!  From the incredible flowers, trees and water features to the seating, secret gardens, potting tables and workplaces; from the outdoor photography studio to the hammocks in the trees, it has been wonderful.  We had storms, downed trees and tree damage, fence damage and drought but all-in-all, still an incredible garden show for the summer of  2012.

This image is another in the series of the Promise Gardens 2012 collection and features the fun and funky bike, porch decor and rose fountain garden.  It is “oh so lovely” to be here…

In a few weeks, the gardens will be filled with falling leaves, amazing color and change before winter sleep.  It is a wonderful time to be outdoors and enjoy such beauty.  Enjoy and capture it!

Garden Loves & Me

My gardening friends, you know without a gardening doubt that I love color in the gardens and especially bright gorgeous colors of purples, turquoise, lime, pink, lemon and white.  After painting the flower bicycle turquoise (see the banner), I started collecting “all things turquoise and aqua” at Pinterest.  I would love to have each one of these in the gardens next year so I am on a “paint the gardens turquoise hunting expedition.”

These items I have stashed away and now they will get a makeover!

That lovely huge birdcage and small table one will get a facelift to lime or lemon.

Isn’t this cute and it doesn’t even have a seat! I would put a larger pot in it and stream a lime sweet potato plant with a HOT HOT Pink chair.

This one I have but its bright yellow…I like it yellow.

These truly whet the appetite for color in the garden and inspire me to create more secret  garden hideaways and reading nooks. I hope you are inspired in your garden design too.

Happy Gardening design!

I AM a GARDENER!

I am fascinated by the changing colors of the garden from the spring pastels of flowering trees and bulbs to the deep reds of roses to the deep emerald green of Arborvitae, I am capturing them with my eye and camera.  I cannot quite decide what I like best, the soft pastels or the deep primary colors or a combination of both so it is determined that I just love them all, in all colors, shades, and in all sizes and shapes because  I AM a GARDENER!

Pastel Garden Loves:  This image depicts my “softer side” and photographed when the buds were beginning to open rendering lovely and varied shades of orchid.  Total color awesomeness.  It has blessed my soul today as the arborist prepares for removing those damaged trees and debris that are hanging 100 ft. above me so that I cannot even get into the “Secret Garden” part of the gardens.  I shall photograph them as they work and share with you.

I Fell In Love in The Promise Gardens

…that’s what they say…well, BHG has this wonderful new idea for that “other” i.e., #3 potting table for the Promise Gardens and yes, my gardening friends, I am going to do this!  Don’t you just want one of these in your gardens?  Go for it and convert one of those odd pieces that you just don’t know what to do with…I am…
