Beautiful Golden Copper Lydia has been wonderfully dressed in a brilliant golden copper for 2018. She spent many years “natural” then to “dressed in blue” and now exquisitely dressed in gleaming golden copper. When the sun’s rays shine on Lydia she takes on a totally surreal beauty that only the light, sun and color could capture. Remember as you garden and tire of the “old look” you can always rejuvenate and beautify those sad garden statues and features to new again. Isn’t she lovely? We think so and even though the photos do not do true justice to her, the eyes do. Happy Gardening and be sure to add a “Lydia” to your gardens too.
The Promise Garden is lighting up every day with flowering peonies and nothing makes our hearts happier than seeing this beautiful “smiling-at-us” yellow peony in full bloom. We call the yellow peony our “Happy Peony” because every time one blooms we burst out with joy and a huge smile. You can see why we love them so much. -Happy Gardening!
One of the most important aspects of gardening is the ability to create beautiful art work for your home, to share, gift and cheer. As Master Gardeners and Artists, we take great care and joy in creating beautiful art for our homes and to share with others. These images were photographed this morning after rain so that I could create art for 2018 Rose & Garden Show. The backdrop is my handpainted window which overlooks the Promise Gardens and which adds additional impact and beauty to the vases. So then, it is not just the creating-tending gardens but also the sharing through giving, designing, creating art and memories. Art extends the life of what we have enjoyed from our gardens in color, light, aroma and beauty. It is no wonder that our famous artists were lovers of gardens as well! Loveliness is everywhere you just have to look around you in God’s creation we see beauty, love, hope and eternity. In our Promise Gardens it is filled with life, color, aroma, art and life from birth to death, creation at its best and worst. How blessed are we to be able to create, sow, seed, grow and tend the generous supply of creation our God’s has given us. It is WHY we love the creation in all of its splendor and have just a little of it in our own gardens. -JacyJoypals
Beautiful Spring! We are happy to see the flowers begin to bloom and are looking forward to this year’s beauties as they grow another year in fullness and show. The sun is shining brightly here in the Valley which means our flowering trees are popping out all over. It’s a cheerful place and since we all love the colors of spring, a repeated post was in order. This is a combination of my favorite colors and the inspiration color palette for my beach house and formal areas of blue and white. Isn’t it lovely?
At Promise Gardens we are always thinking color, color scheme, color palette, storyboards and especially for each new garden season. What will it be this year? Pastels or bold colors? We shall see!
